Thomas Cheek, MD FACP is the founder of Columbia Health Management (CMH), an independent consulting firm providing data driven evidence-based Medicare and Medicaid management solutions for provider groups, managed care organizations and start up companies.

Thomas has over 20 years of management experience in the delivery systems and payer products. He has served as plan chief medical officer and corporate senior medical director for Aetna Better Health. At UnitedHealth Group Thomas has served as  chief medical officer and clinical vice president with a strong focus on Medicare Advantage, Dual Eligible, and traditional Medicaid populations. He was also instrumental in successfully implementing Medicare Shared Savings ACOs as well a Medicare NextGen ACO.

Since founding CHM Thomas has continued his focus on vulnerable populations including developing programs for dementia prevention and helping health plans succeed at Medicare Advantage and Dual Special Needs plans as well as assisting the commercialization of cardiovascular imaging software.

As a board certified internist Thomas has always tried to improve the lives he has served while bringing value to health care. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife traveling, hiking and yoga.
