Frank Williams is an experienced public company CEO/Founder, business advisor and investor. He is focused on addressing health disparities and driving improvements in clinical care and access for vulnerable populations. Mr. Williams has played an active role in influencing health policy through his work with HSS on payment reform, ICER (Institute for Clinical and Economic Review) and the President’s Advisory Council on Public Health at Brown University.
He currently serves as a Venture Partner at Define Ventures and as a formal advisor/board member to Blackbird, Foodsmart, Helix, Nayya, Trusted Health and Wellth. He is also active in the non-profit sector through his work with UCSF Health, PHE, and The Goodness Web.
Previously, Frank co-founded Evolent Health (NYSE:EVH) and served as its Chairman/CEO. During his tenure, the company completed an IPO, grew to $1B+ in annualized revenue and served over 15MM patients nationwide. Evolent was also named to Forbes’ list of America’s Most Promising Companies, a Top 3 Employer Nationwide, and Mr. Williams was selected as the Top CEO Nationwide by Glassdoor.
Prior to Evolent, Frank also served as Chairman and CEO of The Advisory Board Company (NASDAQ: ABCO), a research and SAAS technology firm that served over 5,000 health care organizations worldwide. During Frank's tenure, The Advisory Board completed an IPO and grew to $450M+ in annual revenues with 2,500+ employees and $2B+ in market capitalization. The Advisory Board was recognized among the Top 20 Best Run Companies in North America by Forbes, as well as a Best Place to Work by Modern Healthcare.
Prior to The Advisory Board, Frank served as the President of MedAmerica OnCall, the President of Vivra Orthopedics and as a Consultant for Bain & Co.
A native Californian, Frank received a BA with High Honors in Political Economies of Industrial Societies from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
